OVERVIEW

No person, who does not possess a certificate of Competency as a Boiler Attendant, shall be deemed a fit and proper to hold charge of a boiler or boilers of total heating surfaces exceeding 1000sq. meters situated within a radius of 50 meters .

The State Government constitutes a Board of Examiners to conduct examination for the grant of Certificate of Competency as a Boiler Attendant under the provision of Boiler Attendant Rules,2011.

PROCEDURE

  • 1.Submission of application in prescribed Form-A(part-I, II,III,IV)to be duly filled in.
  • 2.Enclose Treasury Challan in original regarding payment of fee.
  • 3.Enclose two copies photographs(55X 65 cms)size.
  • 4.Enclose proof of age.
  • 5.Enclose proof of qualification.
  • 6.Enclose experience certificate.
  • 7.Enclose NOC in original(for candidates outside of Assam).
  • 8.Self addressed envelope with postal stamp of Rs.5/- only duly fixed.
  • 9.The envelope containing application and other documents should be superscribed as “Application for Boiler Attendant exam” and should be sent to the chairman, Board of Boiler Attendant Examination , Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers, Assam, Lalmati, NH-37, Guwahati-781029.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

i) Education Qualification: Atleast Matriculation or equivalent exam.

ii) Age: For Ist Class – not less than 20yrs of age and
For IInd class – not less than 18 Yrs.

iii) Experience: For Ist Class- 2 Years with IInd Class certificate of proficiency as Boiler Attendant and
for IInd Class- Atleast 2 years as Fireman/Operator/Pump man/Waterman/Assistant Fireman/Assistant
Operator on a Steam Boiler.

REQUISITE FEES FOR THE SERVICES:

  • i) For Class-I Certificate of Competency = Rs.500/-
  • ii) For Class-II Certificate of Competency = Rs.300/-

Payment is to be made into treasury under the Head of Account ““0230-Labour & Employment,103- Fees for Inspection of Steam Boilers” or Pay Online through Egrass portal www.assamegras.gov.in
