Chief Inspector of Boilers:-
I) He acts as controlling office of the Inspectorate.
II) He is recognized as Inspecting Authority and acts in such manner as may be prescribed by Regulations.
III) He is recognized as Competent Authority and acts in such manner as may be prescribed by Regulations.
IV) He represents the state of Assam as member of Central Boiler Board, under DIPP, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
V) He shall exercise any power or perform any duty so conferred or imposed on Dy. Chief Inspector or Inspector by or under the Act. Within the state of Assam.
VI) He acts as Chairman of both Boiler Operation Engineer’s Examination Board and Boiler Attendant Examination Board as per the Rules.
Addl. Chief Inspector of Boilers:-
The State Government may define the local limits within which Addl. Chief Inspector shall exercise the power and perform the duties conferred and imposed on Inspectors by or under the Act and, in addition there to, may exercise such power or perform such duties conferred or imposed on the Chief Inspector by or under this Act, as the State Government may assign to him.
Senior Inspector of Boilers:-
The State Government may define the local limits within which each Senior Inspector shall exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred and imposed on Inspectors by or under the Act.

The State Government may define the local limits within which each Inspector shall exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred and imposed on Inspector by or under the Act.
All officers of the department shall be deemed to be public servant within the meaning of Sec. 21 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860).
Each Addl. Chief Inspector, Sr. Inspector and Inspector may act and perform the responsibilities/duties of Secretary of the Boiler Operation Engineer’s Examination Board and Boiler Attendants Examination Board as the State Govt. may assign.
